Home Theater: Let the Good Times Roll
Home theater systems have been a popular choice for entertainment enthusiasts for years. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the home theater industry has continued to grow, with streaming services like Amazon, Apple, and Netflix producing high-quality content that can be enjoyed from the comfort of one's own home. According to Steve Silberman, director of product marketing-entertainment at Savant, the custom installation market is expected to experience larger sales growth than retail channels.
Silberman explains that immersive audio has come of age, and dealers are taking advantage of the residential market's growing adoption of immersive audio technologies. To demonstrate the capabilities of immersive audio in home environments, the Savant New York Experience Center has invested in a 9.2.4 JBL Synthesis system. Savant has invested heavily in the soundbar category as well, with the Wireless Smart Audio Soundbar being a popular choice for homeowners.
Silberman emphasizes that there is more content than ever, and even if a movie starts in the theater, it quickly enters the home video category through the market's many streaming services. The days of home theater playing second fiddle to commercial cinemas are gone. Home theater can rival commercial theaters in terms of quality, with products offered through the Savant Store such as Sony ES projectors and Megapixel LED tile solutions, electronics from Arcam and JBL Synthesis, and speakers from JBL and Revel.
Moreover, integrators can provide levels of comfort to home theater environments that commercial theaters cannot deliver. Silberman recommends using Savant Scenes, a must-use feature in any home theater, allowing homeowners to capture the moment or create from the ground up.
The home theater industry is thriving, and the future looks bright. With streaming services producing high-quality content and the availability of state-of-the-art home theater systems, homeowners can enjoy a cinema-quality experience from the comfort of their own homes.
