Features & Benefits

  • The Expert Sensor Box is a rack or remote monitoring system (RMS) that enables a quick set up for monitoring the environment. Integrated temperature, humidity, and air pressure sensors, relay outputs, and signal inputs allow for protection of existing infrastructure. Thanks to e-mail alerts or access via web application and smartphone app, important events or failures can be responded to quickly. Configurable thresholds allow event-based switching operations. Preventive measures in the event of critical conditions can thus be initiated in real time. Typical applications Early switching on of cooling systems in case of overheating in server racks Optimization of heating systems Alarming in case of flooding and fire events Detection of air conditioning or cooling system failures Monitoring of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems Features In addition to the permanently integrated sensors (temperature, humidity and air pressure), the devices have 2 additional sensor connections for expanding the monitoring functionality. The additional hot-plug sensors, the compact design and the flexible mounting of the Expert Sensor Box allow installation in no time. Thanks to the browser application, compatible network monitoring software (e.g. PRTG, Nagios or PowerIQ) and a smartphone app (GUDE Control) available free of charge, local and remote access is easy to realize. Redundant and thus fail-safe power supply is guaranteed via Power-over-Ethernet or 2 mains connections, depending on the model. Modern security standards are supported by the LAN sensors (SNMPv3, SSL and IPv6 capability). Variants The monitoring systems are available with different integrated sensors: 1. temperature (T), 2. temperature + humidity (T+H), 3. temperature + humidity + air pressure (T+H+P). Furthermore, the devices are available with and without Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). Compared to the Expert Sensor Box 7213 Series, the Expert Sensor Box 7214 Series series also has a switchable relay output and a signal input for I/O monitoring (input/output). Technical details of Expert Sensor Box 7214 Switchable relay output with changeover contact connection (NO and NC) and high switching capacity (36 V, 3 A) Independent, passive signal input for polling NO/NC devices (e.g. smoke detector, leakage sensor, door contact) Generation of messages via e-mail, syslog and SNMP traps depending on set thresholds of sensor measurement and signal input Switching of relay output depending on sensor thresholds or input possible Signal input has 12 V connection to supply NO/NC devices 1-channel watchdog for monitoring the connected devices (ICMP/TCP) 2 inputs for redundant power supply (12 V DC) via external power sources Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) supply possible in addition to external plug-in power supplies Simple and flexible configuration via web browser, Windows or Linux program Firmware update during operation via Ethernet possible HTTP/HTTPS, e-mail (SSL, STARTTLS), DHCP, Syslog IPv6-ready, SNMPv1, v2c, v3 (Get/Traps) TLS 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 Radius, Modbus TCP and Telnet is supported Access protection through IP access control Controllable via iOS and Android app GUDE Control Low power consumptionDeveloped and produced in Germany Application areas Data centers, control cabinets, equipment rooms, HVAC installations, industrial infrastructure Mounting Server/switch cabinet, on top hat rail thanks to mounting clip Dimensions Sheet steel housing: 100 x 90 x 34 mm (LxHxD) incl. mounting clips Plastic sensor pin: length: 94 mm, diameter: 15 mm Availability Immediately through the manufacturer and distribution partners Available accessories External sensors (temperature, humidity, air pressure), smoke detector, leakage sensor, plug-in power supply, DIN rail mounting clip
